Como Roundhouse Work Day — March 11th
We had an extremely productive work day in Como. Mount Trashmore is no more!
Day began with cool snowy weather, low wind, perfect day. Chris Tome with his crawler backhoe began sorting Mount Trashmore and establishing burn piles that were set set ablaze
Five piles were established for burning and were systematically fed slash / debris
The Jefferson – Como Fire Protection District crew came by and checked on the slash burning
Early afternoon the wind picked up and the slash removal had to curtail further slash feeding and began extinguishing the burn piles with snow
Volunteers, Chris Tome, Bob Revis, Andrew Zimmerman, Michael Bottlemy, present not in photos, Joey Knous and Sean Bottlemy
Chris Tome showing new improved skyline at the Como Campus with Mount Trashmore “gone”!
This is a major step forward to begin material relocation and campus improvement
Additionally the wood trimmings from the saw mill are being cut for firewood by Bob Schoppe and Tom Lawson
Thank you to all of our volunteers!
