An Update From Our Mechanical Shop: Klondike Kate’s Tender Has Trucks Again!
An update from our machine shop on Klondike Kate:
Fun times this weekend in frozen Como. Saturday turned out to be decent and we were able to get our newly rebuilt trucks back under the tender after 4 hours of digging out the turntable pit. We had a backhoe for most of that. We are happy to get the tender back into the roundhouse on its own two little feet. The boys started cleaning out the bunker for the work to begin installing the oil tank.
We are going to clean the tank, give it a proper coat of paint and some decent lettering. Just look at it as putting lipstick on one of your porcine friends. Lots of work left on the tender. We finished the way sheet supports and chopped up some bits for the oil conversion. A big thank you to Bob, Chris, Gary, Jimmy, Paul and Tim
