The Future of the Como Roundhouse
The South Park Rail Society Board of Directors at a recent Board of Directors meeting (September 23, 2024) approved to proceed to acquire the historic Como Roundhouse from Kathy & Chuck Brantigan at a negotiated sales price of $400,000.
Plans are developing to pursue government & private grant funding, soliciting donations as well as initiating a fund raising drive to raise the funds to purchase the Roundhouse and property it sits on.
The transfer of ownership into a non-profit organization will enable the opportunity to pursue historical funding grants for further development of the heritage site and preserve this unique “gem” into posterity for future generations to appreciate.
Moving forward we intent to pursue an historical funding grant that will require a cash match and balance to close on the purchase seeking everyone’s help moving forward.
