Boreas Pass Railroad Day 2024 was a smashing success!
Every aspect, from set up, presenting an outstanding event & putting it back was clockwork. We all had fun together presenting an outstanding event - showcasing the historical preservation efforts of Como!
Set up on Friday went extremely well, even proving Joey Knous that his ATV cannot pull a car! Bob Revis, Norm Acker, Jimmy Scoville, David Winner, Bob Peterson, Clarke Stemke, Paul Reinhardt congratulating Joey Knous on his experience.

Host & front entrance greeter Andrew Zimmerman welcoming our visitors. Archivist & host Catherine Woodham was absolutely swamped with visitors.
The Merchandise Store was extremely busy, with Manager Lauren Revis-Hebert, Jan Guerra & April Myers. Multiple items sold out!

The Speeder ride was very busy! Ran by hosts Jeannie Lawson, Audrey Wilson, Scott Hebert & Brian Delaplane.
Likewise the Hand Car was extremely busy. Hosts include Michele Miller, Jon Dierksheide, Mike Bottlemy & Chris Tome (not in photos).

In sun, heat and dust the parking lot volunteers/hosts provided orderly parking for our visitors & kept Como residents happy as the streets were not clogged with parked cars. Parking Lot Manager Takoda Myers, with Aaron Myers & Steve Burt. Not in photo, David Winner, Mark Hansen, Dale Shallenberger, Jacoby Van Winkle. We even experienced the first “tailgate party”!
Handicapped parking Hosts accommodated visitors Paul Gregvoli, Bob Peterson & Dallas Meads. Traffic Hosts Paul Reinhardt & Joe Wittig with greeter host Kor Elzenga.
The Denver Brass “Steel Brass and Bagpipes” concert with the new area for handicapped guests was unfortunately delayed due to a serious auto accident shutting down US285 at Shawnee delaying band members & preventing many visitors from attending. A favorite piece with the Celtic Colorado Pipes & Drums “Scotland the Brave”.
Concert grand hostess Kathy Brantigan led the popular music concert!
Jefferson Market & Highside Brewery were busy with visitors enjoying the picnic grove.
South Park Ambulance crew was present. A BIG THANK YOU to Bark Kirk & Joey Knous for hosting, setting up & feeding the volunteers. Present not in photo Jim Mackay video.
