Como Campus Work Day - June 1st

Saturday June 1st was another productive work day for the Como Campus!

The Track Crew completed track #8 switch. (Bob Revis, Road Master Alex Hois, Jim Scoville, Paul Blanchard & Patrick Hardin)

The Engine Crew continued work on Kate #4, completing cross head measurements, removing pilot lever beam from underneath smokebox to repair worn pin holes, removed grease cap & measured wear on pilot frame. (Mike Sharp, Dan Silbaugh, Paul Marizza, David Winner, Jim McBee & Tim Clay)

Support volunteers continued excavating the support structure of the Maintenance Track Shed to enable to lift sheds onto new footings. (Dallas Mead, Foreman Joey Knous, Paul Greguoli, Rob & Jacobt Van Winkle with Kathy & Chuck Brantigan)

Bob Stephan and Tom Lawson laid out runners to store rail in anticipation of receiving 300 sticks of light weight rail from Delores.

Norm Acker lead lettering crew Luke Miller, Sam Kunag and Tim Fade lettering C&S #8311.

Chris Tome cleared Roundhouse windows, with Joey Knous observing.

Bob Schoppe and Steve Schweighofer de-winterized the Como Heritage site preparing for summer of visitors.

Hosts / Visitor Guides, Nancy Santagata, Donnie Karn, Nicole Karn not in photo, and Archaeologist Catherine Woodham escorted visitors. We even had picnickers from Fort Collins enjoying lunc in the picnic grove. Chris Ruch assisted Leslie Cole preparing and serving a scrumptious lunch to the volunteers.
