Open House & Campus Work Day - July 20th
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the second open house of the summer!
We had a lot of visitors, Hosts Chip Sherman & Michael Bottlemy accommodated visitors with tours and handcar rides.
Merchandise Manager Lauren Revis - Hebert was busy with customers!
Engine crew worked on pilot wheel assembly - Mike Sharp, Jim McBee, Larry Plume & Tim Clay.
Track Crew Jon Dieksheide, Jim Scoville & Road Master Alex Hois worked on new track.
Heritage Site Archaeologist Catherine Woodham arranged her new photo sign boards depicting history of Como & the “Como Effort”, outstanding display!
Scott Barton, Bob Revis & Steve Thompson performed landscape enhancement, burying travel trailer electric cable & cleaning the area where the former Paris Mill boiler was to enlarge/enhance the visitor picnic area.
Norm Acker painted the “nomenclature” (information) on DSPR&P #608.
Spreading “road base” around the turntable to enhance visitor safety - Steve Thompson, Scott Barton & Ruth Heckman.
Tie Cutting Crew broke a record with 90 ties - Jacob and Rod Van Winkle, Paul Blanchard & Garry Patterson.
Progress was made on the boxcar maintenance sheds - Dallas Meads & Paul Greguoli.

Cliff Mestel the founder of DSP&PHS paid a visit to the Como Campus!
Track construction progress - stud track to boxcar maintenance sheds & #8 extension.
