Open House & Campus Work Day - September 21st
With the leaves turning in South Park we had a lot of visitors & a very productive work day!
New volunteer Preston Cooper hosted visitors while Michael Bottlemy gave visitors rides on the handcar.
Scott Hebert provided visitors rides on the speeder & Preston Cooper was busy with visitors.
The Merchandise Store with Lauren Revis–Hebert was extremely busy! (With customers all the way from Boston!)
Joey Knous & Paul Greguoli continued the restoration of the maintenance shed - installing new doors.
The Track Crew - Bob Peterson, Jacob Van Winkle, Brian Parkinson, Jim Scoville, Paul Blanchard, Rob Van Winkle & Road Master Alex Hois continued work on track #8 with the new spiker.
Norm Acker and Mike Sharp assembled/reviewed the assortment of wood working equipment, (table saw, planner, band saw and shop vacuum system) graciously donated by Chris Hoyt. Jimmy Ortega buttoned up rider car #210 for the winter and coated the picnic tables.
With grant funding help from the National Railway Historical Society & assistance from David Winner - we purchased a load of electrical material to begin the upgrade of the Roundhouse electrical system. David is painting the conduit & boxes before installation so the new electrical metallic system will blend in the historic Roundhouse.
A hot scrumptious lunch for our volunteers was provided by Chris Ruch & Leslie Cole. Volunteers shown Mike Bottlemy, Jimmy Ortega, Preston Cooper, Alex Hois, Steve Thompson, Bob Schoppe, Mike Sharp, Tim Clay, Jim Scoville & Bob Revis.
